Become a Kindred Warrior
The Young Warrior Woman Program supports vulnerable young women 15-25 years of age transitioning from out of home care into independent living, as well as young women who simply lack the support of a stable caring adult to guide them on their path to adulthood. It is designed to reduce the stress involved in leaving out of home care and/or learning to live independently. We call our mentees Young Warriors.
Each Young Warrior is supported by a group of mentors who we call Wise Warriors. These are women 30 years and over who are caring, positive, and stable female role models from the local community who provide support, guidance and impart the wisdom of life experience.
In addition to providing mentors, the Young Warrior Woman Program emphasises the authenticity that comes from introducing young vulnerable women with near-peer mentors who have lived experience in foster care or out of home care and have successfully navigated the transition to adulthood. Therefore, we are recruiting a team of peers who we call "Kindred Warriors".
If you are a young woman 18-30 years old who has lived in care, successfully transitioned to adulthood, and would like to join a dynamic team of inspiring young leaders, please email us to find out more about joining the Kindred Warriors Peer Team.
